Fire watch
Fire watch for construction sites and data centers
When the fire alarm is off, we are on – during construction and in live operations.
When
The gap a fire watch closes
When a fire alarm or sprinkler system is switched off or fails, automatic fire detection is missing. A fire watch is then the usual compensating measure required by the fire safety concept, the operator and the insurer.
Data hall fit-out
Detector lines switched off while dust and works would trigger false alarms.
Maintenance & modification
Fire alarm or sprinkler works in a live data center.
System failure
Short-notice cover when the fire alarm or sprinkler system is down.
Commissioning
Transition phases until all detectors are live.
Process
Covered in 4 steps
We know the process operators and general contractors must follow.
Agree the shutdown
Area, detector lines and time window agreed with site management and operator.
On site before shutdown
The fire watch is in place before the system is switched off.
Patrols & records
Continuous presence, rounds, complete records in the digital logbook.
Handover
Documented handover when the system is back in service.

Qualification
Qualified for the data center
Fire safety assistants
Trained to DGUV Information 205-023 and ASR A2.2.
Gas suppression
Briefed on extinguishing agents and conduct with gas suppression systems in data halls.
First aiders
All staff trained in first aid.

24/7 duty management
Direct escalation to fire brigade and site management.
Terms
Fire watch, fire post, fire safety watch
Three terms that are often confused.
Fire watch (Brandwache)
Monitors an area where automatic fire detection is switched off or has failed – our core deployment in data centers.
Fire post (Brandposten)
Covers a single hazard point directly, typically during and after hot works.
Fire safety watch (Brandsicherheitswache)
Required for events or by authority order and specified by the fire prevention office.
COVERAGE
Fire watch in Frankfurt, Rhine-Main and across Europe
We are based in Wiesbaden and run most assignments in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region – mainly on data center construction sites. Projects in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg or elsewhere in Europe are staffed to the same standard, with English-speaking teams and one point of contact.

FAQ
Fire watch FAQ
When is a fire watch required?
Typically during hot works such as welding, cutting or soldering in fire-risk areas, when fire alarm or sprinkler systems are switched off or fail, and as a follow-up check after hot works. The basis includes German DGUV guidance 205-023 and the conditions in the hot work permit.
How long does a fire watch last?
For the duration of the works or for as long as the system is switched off. After hot works, a follow-up check is added, with its duration set in the permit.
What equipment does your fire watch have?
Suitable fire extinguishers, radio and phone, personal protective equipment and documentation of every patrol in the digital guard log.
How quickly can you provide a fire watch?
Planned deployments usually within 48 hours. For short-notice requests, please call us directly: +49 (0) 611 950 123 20.
